These two holiday cottages lie quietly, in an elevated position, overlooking the beautiful coast around Ilfracombe. They enjoy a sunny situation in a pleasant courtyard, adjacent to the owners’ 17th-century farmhouse. Sympathetically converted from traditional farm buildings – Dolly’s Barn was once a barn and Aggie’s Cottage was a former stable – they both benefit from their own patios, and shared use of gardens and paddocks of 3 acres (including a children’s play area and a field for ball games). Ideal for large family groups, Dolly’s Barn is as spacious as it is characterful. Boasting an array of beams and sloping ceilings, it also caters for people with disabilities. Aggie’s Cottage, although smaller, is just as charming; as it uses many original architectural features, and some salvaged ones.
